Nordika expands existing hospital premises and secures 20-year lease agreement
Nordika has signed a 20-year lease agreement with HUS (Helsinki University Hospital) for approximately 9,000 sqm at the property Tietokuja 2 in Espoo.
The lease supports HUS's transformation of Orton into its dedicated joint replacement hospital. Under the new operating model, Orton will focus exclusively on hip and knee replacement surgeries. The expansion is intended to reduce long waiting lists and improve access to specialized care across the Uusimaa region.
The agreement marks another significant milestone in Nordika's transformation of Tietokuja 2. HUS has expanded its originally committed lease area by approximately 2,000 sqm, bringing the total leased area to approximately 9,000 sqm. The property, originally IBM's Finnish headquarters, has been repositioned into a premium social infrastructure asset.
With HUS joining existing tenants including Mehiläinen, Livet and Elixia, the property is evolving into a prominent healthcare and wellness location, bringing together public healthcare, private medical services and complementary health-related businesses within a single campus.
