Nordika lets 6,100 square meters of additional space in the Aura Building in Akalla

In Aura Building, which totals about 14,000 square meters of lettable area, Nordika has let 4,000 sqm to the senior living company Kavat vård on a long-term lease. Also, Nordika has signed an agreement to let an additional 2,100 sqm to existing tenant Mångården.

Two years ago, Nordika began the work to convert Aura Building from being an office property that for a long time had a high vacancy rate to become a sustainable property with a stable tenant structure. One year ago, the first agreement in line with Nordikas strategy was signed with the school Mångården, which included a 15-year lease for 4,000 sqm. After the new leases, around 2,500 sqm remains to be let, for which Nordika is in active discussions with companies in the same segments.

The combination of school and senior living is unique. Nordika has created an attractive cross-generation format that is included by nature. The two activities are in separate parts of the building, but both the elderly and children will move and have activities in the building.

Robert Högström Property Manager Nordika comments
“It’s exciting to be able to contribute with a new format for nursing homes and elementary schools in the same building, where we believe both operations will have much pleasure in each other. We do not know that something like this exists already and strongly believe the combination of activities will contribute to safer and warmer elderly care.

Catharina Tavakolinia, CEO Kavat vård comment
“Kavat vård has long sought larger premises to expand its tailor-made activity for the elderly. We are pleased that we can now open 54 new modern accommodation units in Akalla. Estimated to open in the autumn of 2016. ”

Kavat vård was founded in 2006 and operates elderly care facilities in Stockholm with different profiles. Besides the Persian profile, they also have elderly care with Spanish and Arabic profiles. In the inner city, Kavat vård operates two elderly care facilities with a hotel concept.
Lettings has been made in cooperation with Nordic PM.
