Nordika expands and acquires a local shopping centre from Coop Gotland
The shopping centre is located in a prime location in Visby, one of Sweden’s most popular holiday destinations. The centre, which will be anchored by Coop, comprises over 12,000 sqm retail with national retail tenants including H&M, McDonalds and Stadium. Coop initiated a transformation and modernisation program in 2013, which will be continued and completed by Nordika. Nordika will further improve the tenant mix and lease up vacant space.
Jonas Grandér Nordika, Founder and CEO, commented:
“Coop has done a great job renewing the property and increasing the footfall. We will continue and complete the job started by Coop and lease up vacant space currently representing 25% of the retail area. We also want to improve the overall impression of the property by further modernizing the building in itself. The shopping centre adds to our current retail portfolio and diversifies our risk, and yet with strong cash flow from long-term leases with strong national retailers.
